About us
MIGIGO helps customers who worked in Japan and returned home prepare an application for Japan's Pension Lump-sum Withdrawal Payment easily and conveniently.
What MIGIGO does
We find and enter the information needed for the application from documents uploaded by the customer, including a passport, English-language bank account certificate, copy of a deleted resident record (住民票の除票の写し), and Basic Pension Number documents.
After the customer reviews the entered information and corrects any errors, MIGIGO prepares separate print-ready PDFs for each recipient containing the Japan Pension Service claim form, submission attachments approved by the customer, customer-copy guidance, and a checklist.
Ratio engine
MIGIGO's proprietary character-recognition algorithm, the Ratio engine, finds and enters information needed for the application from uploaded documents.
Customer personal information is not used for other purposes such as facial recognition, biometric identification, AI training, or marketing.
Customer review and direct submission
The customer reviews the completed PDF, prints and signs the application by hand, and submits only the Japan Pension Service submission section directly through e-Gov or by international mail. The customer keeps the checklist, mailing address, post-filing guidance, and tax-refund guidance.
The Japan Pension Service reviews the application and decides eligibility and the payment amount.
Tax refund filing
Employees' Pension members may request tax-refund representation by MIGIGO's recommended tax accountant and proceed with the tax-refund filing through a separate process after the payment decision.
The contract with the tax accountant, the fees, and the provision of personal information are handled separately from the MIGIGO service, and only after the customer has reviewed and consented to them.
